Alexis Ohanian, the Reddit co-founder and an early investor in Coinbase, believes We are entering a ‘crypto spring’
In an interview on May 23, with Yahoo Finance, Ohanian stated: “We really do see a crypto spring right now in terms of top-tier engineers, product developers, designers, building real solutions on top of the blockchain.”
He further added that
“I’ve had a percentage of my wealth in crypto for quite some time now and I still feel pretty good about it, I don’t want to change too much of it,”
“Because I do think it’s a prudent hedge. It’s interesting to see OGs of Wall Street now getting into crypto and buying bitcoin. It’s increasingly showing that it’s here to stay.”Alexis Ohanian
Ohanian told Yahoo Finance Live on Friday. “What I can say is we really do see a crypto spring right now in terms of top-tier engineers, product developers, designers, building real solutions on top of the blockchain. And that to me is the most interesting part… We’re seeing really top-tier talent building on the infrastructure.”
Reddit is being prepared to launch tokenized rewards on Ethereum
A month ago, a Reddit user with the moniker “MagoCrypto” revealed in a number of posts that Reddit was seemingly beta testing an Ethereum-based feature called “Community Points,” which would allow users to earn ERC-20 tokens to get special access to certain communities known as subreddits.
As reported by Cointelegraph, last month, Reddit launched its crypto-based Community Points reward system on the Ethereum’s Rinkeby testnet, announcing plans to migrate to the Ethereum mainnet by the end of the year.
The points were rolled out across the r/Cryptocurrency and r/fortniteBR in the form of “Moons” and “Bricks” respectively from May 13 to May 15.
